The anticipated salary range for this role is between $135,000.00 and $181,000.00, and offers may include a discretionary incentive award. Credit Risk Specialist

to cover financial institutions. The role reports to the Head of Credit Services within the Chief Operating Office of SMBC Capital Markets front office. The role's primary function is to assess credit worthiness and produce credit applications and renewals in support of our Global Markets investor businesses. The position is on the trading floor and the work environment is fast paced involving direct contact with front office staff, second line credit officers and our clients. The individual will support activities within our swap dealer and broker dealer businesses including derivatives, FX, repo and securities lending. As part of the first line of defense, the Credit Services Department maintains sound credit management activities liaising where necessary with other departments to review and assess credit risk, monitor credit exposure and provide guidance on credit limits in accordance with policies and procedures. Responsibilities

Perform credit analyses on Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFI), asset managers, insurance companies and banks with emphasis on financial analysis, asset quality, liquidity, historical performance, and key risk. Evaluate derivatives and securities financing transactions across client base working closely with derivatives marketers, relationship managers, risk management, credit department and legal to mitigate risk. Provide continuous credit monitoring of assigned portfolio, ensure accuracy of assigned risk ratings and escalate any deterioration in credit quality to management. Work on special projects as required. Qualifications and Skills

BA/BS required with concentration in finance or business. 3+ years of relevant credit work experience covering Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFI), insurance, asset managers and financial institutions. 5 – 7 years of credit experience including management / development of junior staff for Vice President corporate title. Excellent understanding of derivatives and SFT product risk. Strong interest in client interaction and outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Ability to operate independently and perform well under pressure in a demanding environment. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
