Our client, a confidential organization is seeking an experienced Senior Lease Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This role will play a key part in managing the company’s global lease portfolio — including facilities, vehicles, and equipment — and ensuring compliance with
ASC 842 and U.S. GAAP .
The ideal candidates are detail-oriented accounting professionals with strong technical expertise, analytical skills, and a passion for process excellence in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the preparation, review, and maintenance of global lease documentation and schedules in compliance with
ASC 842.
Oversee the entry and maintenance of lease data in the lease accounting system, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Review complex lease arrangements and determine proper classification and accounting treatment.
Perform and review monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities related to lease accounting, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Validate lease schedules and ensure data integrity within the Lease Accounting Application.
Collaborate with Real Estate, Fleet, Legal, and FP&A teams to ensure lease data reflects contractual terms.
Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audit requests.
Identify and drive process improvements and automation initiatives.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff as needed.
Support strategic initiatives, including M&A activity and system enhancements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in corporate or public accounting.
Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 842 lease accounting standards.
CPA certification preferred.
Experience with lease accounting systems (FinQuery preferred).
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems.
Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
