You will support the national bowel cancer screening programme at the Shropshire Bowel Cancer Screening Centre. The role is based mainly at William Farr House, Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, with regular visits to The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.
Job Overview This full‑time role involves general administrative duties, including arranging patient appointments, maintaining accurate databases, retrieving and filing patient case notes, minute‑taking in the absence of the coordinator, and responding to telephone calls from patients, carers and professional staff.
Main Responsibilities
Arrange and confirm patient appointments.
Maintain accurate screening databases.
Retrieve, file and manage patient case notes.
Provide support to senior staff, including minute‑taking.
Answer telephone queries from patients, carers and professional staff.
Qualifications and Experience
4 GCSEs (English and Maths) – grades 4–9 or equivalent.
NVQ Level 2 in Administration or equivalent.
Previous office experience.
Excellent communication, organisational and time‑management skills.
Keyboard skills and experience of data input.
Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
