Job Summary The primary purpose of this position is to provide more advanced actuarial analyses, based upon generally accepted actuarial principles, under the direction and oversight of senior-level actuaries. The completed analyses will be used by internal business leaders for data‑based decision making and may relate to pricing, reserving, reinsurance, corporate reporting, or combinations of these areas.

Job Responsibilities

Conduct research and analysis on potential new lines of business and establish rates/pricing that support profitable premium growth and cost‑based pricing; research new business opportunities when requested.

Communicate results with actuaries and underwriters clearly, and respond efficiently and accurately to requests to vary the actuarial analysis in terms of structure or assumptions.

Present results of actuarial analyses to meeting attendees, ensuring that both actuarial and non‑actuarial attendees understand the final results.

Communicate potential actuarial issues promptly.

Serve as a resource for less experienced actuaries.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Knowledge and experience using SQL, Excel, Access, and Python.

Annual statement familiarity.

Proven knowledge of actuarial techniques and methodologies.

Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.

Professional presentation skills.

Team player with analytical, quantitative, and leadership abilities.

May travel up to 15% as needed.

Experience / Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Business, or a similar field.

Two or more actuarial exams passed preferred, with a demonstrated commitment to pursuing Associate or Fellowship designation in the Casualty Actuarial Society.

Two or more years of actuarial or data analytics experience preferred.

US Work Authorization US work authorization required. This position does not provide visa sponsorship for the present or future.

Pay Information Compensation will be based on factors such as education, experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other relevant factors. The national average salary for the Actuarial Analyst position is $62,400 – $85,800 with 12% bonus potential. For the Senior Actuarial Analyst position the national average salary is $78,000 – $107,250 with 15% bonus potential.
