Position Summary The Financial Analyst 2-4, Financial Forecasting supports the Company's financial forecast and outlook, including the development of monthly forecasting processes, forward-looking financial analysis (including pro forma statements and ad hoc modeling), and support for the Company\'s cash flow model. This role crafts presentations and supports Corporate Finance & Long-Range Planning as needed. Reports to the Manager of Financial Forecasting.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Supports the development and maturity of the financial model and forecasting capabilities (regression, time series, rolling forecasting, break-even, rate of return, payback period) to support monthly reforecasting, budgets, target setting, and metrics evaluation.

Assists on daily and monthly cash flow model activities and with new technology; drafts procedures for recurring processes.

Prepares financial slides and materials presented to the CEO Direct Reports, Board of Trustees, and City of San Antonio staff.

Supports production of the Sales Package, Model Rollover, and other City Reports.

Provides analytical support on key trends and drivers behind monthly and quarterly financials; communicates outlook changes to management.

Supports analytics, initiatives, and ad hoc projects from Corporate Finance & Long-Range Planning as needed.

Collaborates with Strategic Pricing, Debt Management, BAMR, Demand/Supply Side, and Commercial Analytics teams to understand key financial drivers.

Organizes FP&A material and serves as liaison to business unit budget teams and leadership.

Creates and maintains procedures and internal control documents.

Performs other duties and serves on special project teams as assigned.

Minimum Skills / Knowledge and Abilities

Accountant/analyst experience providing technical and analytical solutions.

Understanding of accounting/financial and operational solutions in related fields.

Experience in financial/project management for Operational Units.

Ability to understand processes in specialized fields and work independently or in a team.

Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels of personnel.

Ability to meet goals with minimal supervision; strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Ability to make independent recommendations and decisions.

High accuracy and attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with other Office tools.

Ability to work in a team and across locations (field, construction centers, main office).

Ability to identify alternative solutions to support organizational goals, budgets.

Preferred Qualifications

MBA with concentration in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.

CFA, CMA, FP&A certification, or comparable designation.

Experience with ERP solutions (e.g., SAP, BPC, PeopleSoft, Hyperion).

Experience in the electric or gas utility industry or with a professional service provider serving the industry.

Experience building three-statement financial models.

Experience with modeling and simulation, data mining, and data analytics.

Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau).

Intermediate project management experience.

Minimum Education Bachelor\'s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance, Accounting, Auditing or related field from an accredited university.

Required Certifications None specified beyond preferred certifications noted above.

Working Environment Indoor work; use of computer and standard office equipment; ability to travel to meetings or training as needed.

Physical Demands

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally; sedentary work for most of the time.
