Qualifications
2+ years of cost accounting experience
Hands‑on application of cost accounting principles
Manufacturing experience preferred
Responsibilities
Cost Analysis & Reporting
Analyze manufacturing costs including labor, materials, and overhead.
Prepare detailed cost reports and variance analyses.
Monitor cost trends and identify areas for cost reduction.
Inventory Valuation
Maintain accurate records of raw materials, work‑in‑progress, and finished goods.
Ensure proper valuation of inventory using methods such as FIFO, LIFO, or weighted average.
Reconcile physical inventory with accounting records.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts for manufacturing operations.
Compare actual costs to budgeted costs and explain variances.
Support strategic planning with cost projections.
Standard Cost Development
Establish and update standard costs for products and processes.
Collaborate with production and engineering to ensure standards reflect operations.
Cost Control & Efficiency
Identify inefficiencies in production and suggest improvements.
Monitor waste, scrap, and rework costs.
Support lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement.
Financial Compliance & Audits
Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
Support internal and external audits related to manufacturing costs.
ERP & Systems Management
Use ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) to track and report costs.
Collaborate with IT and operations to improve cost tracking systems.
