Position Summary The Relationship Banker II combines expertise in customer service, sales, and operational management at an elevated skill level within the banking team. This advanced role integrates teller and personal banker responsibilities, with an emphasis on providing comprehensive financial services to customers. The position requires deep knowledge of banking products, customer service, and operational processes. Responsibilities include handling complex transactions, guiding less experienced staff, building customer relationships, and promoting the bank’s services.
Duties & Responsibilities Customer Service & Relationship Management
Greet and engage customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing exceptional service to build lasting relationships.
Serve as a trusted point of contact for customers, ensuring the highest level of service is provided.
Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through personalized service and proactive outreach, assisting with both routine and complex banking needs.
Provide guidance to customers on financial products and services that best meet their needs.
Sales & Cross‑Selling
Actively identify and promote all bank products and services.
Ask clients targeted questions to learn about their financial needs and goals.
Meet and exceed monthly sales and referral goals by engaging with customers to assess needs and recommend suitable banking solutions.
Proactively seek opportunities to refer customers to other lines of business such as mortgage, wealth, treasury, and commercial.
Account Management and Support
Open and manage personal and business accounts ensuring accurate and compliant setup.
Assist with account maintenance tasks such as updating personal information, processing transfers, and check orders.
Support customers with online and mobile banking services, ensuring they are comfortable with digital tools.
Loan & Credit Processing
Process and assist with customer loan applications, including personal loans and home equity lines of credit.
Conduct initial loan screenings, gather documentation, and collaborate with loan officers to ensure a smooth approval process.
Educate customers on loan products, eligibility requirements, and loan terms.
Transactions & Cash Handling
Process transactions with high accuracy.
Balance cash drawer and ensure transactions are accurately recorded.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and detect suspicious activity, escalating issues to management.
Adhere to privacy regulations and handle customer data securely.
Team Support and Mentorship
Assist newer staff with guidance on bank products, customer service skills, and operational procedures.
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment by sharing knowledge.
Branch Operations & Administrative Support
Assist with daily branch tasks, including balancing cash, managing supplies, and supporting opening/closing procedures.
Support branch leadership in maintaining security and operational efficiency.
Education & Experience Knowledge Of
Strong sales and customer service skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Basic math and accounting functions
Basic tenets of lending and assessing a customer’s financial needs
Abilities
Accurately count money
Make decisions under frequent time pressures
Stand for extended periods of time
Lift 50 pounds

Education and Training
High School diploma required.
2 years of banking experience with lending responsibilities.
1 year of prior training, mentorship, military, or management experience.
All Relationship Bankers (if lending) must maintain current NMLS registration.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
Benefits and Compensation Salary range: $18–$21 per hour, with potential for bonuses or incentives based on performance.
