Job Summary Under general direction, the Operations Support performs a variety of responsibilities including delivery of fertilizer and chemical products to customers, customer service, vehicle maintenance, equipment and facility maintenance, and fertilizer blending.
Key Responsibilities
Perform varied tasks such as equipment and plant maintenance (welding, pump and engine overhauls, painting, housekeeping); loading and delivering fertilizer and chemicals; operating equipment to blend fertilizer; monitoring product application by calculating amounts, calibrating equipment, controlling application rates, and cleaning and storing equipment after application; receiving, unloading product and managing warehouse inventory.
Ensure proper loading and operation of vehicles in compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Hazmat regulations and company safety requirements.
Assist with special projects, attend training sessions, provide backup as needed, and perform other duties assigned.
Promote Simplot brand to customers, employees, and community; responsible for accurate, timely, and safe product deliveries and application.
Qualifications Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Experience
1+ year related experience and/or training.
Knowledge of basic farm equipment and operations preferred.
Ability to blend products, load truck, drive to farm; operate heavy equipment such as sprayer/applicator and semi‑truck/trailer.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, mobile apps.
Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
Certifications
Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
HazMat endorsement preferred and will be granted within 6 months if not already held.
Tanker endorsement preferred and will be granted within 6 months if not already held.
TWIC Card preferred and will be granted within 6 months if not already held.
Compensation and Benefits Pay Grade: GR1. Wage range: $19–$25 per hour plus annual incentive plan eligibility. Pay includes:
Medical, dental, vision coverage.
401(k) savings plan.
Paid Family Building Leave.
Generous paid time off: accrue up to 160 hours in year 1.
10 paid holidays.
Relocation assistance program (where applicable).
Education assistance.
