Overview ASSISTANT DIRECTOR / ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT

Position Summary This position is responsible for planning and executing alumni events for alumni engagement, including on and off campus events and activities. This position is also responsible for planning events for regional Alumni Affinity Chapters and groups.

Responsibilities

Plans and organizes alumni outreach initiatives including in-person and virtual events.

Coordinates regional engagement programs for both out-of-state and in-state alumni groups, including initiating meetings and managing expectations.

Supports the planning, coordinating, and management of Alumni Affinity Chapters and Groups.

Develops and implements Alumni volunteer programs to enhance engagement and participation.

Designs and produces marketing materials, social media content, website updates, and other communication materials in collaboration with the Alumni Engagement team.

Creates and designs video content for virtual Alumni programming.

Serves as a staff liaison to the National Alumni Board of Directors and assists committees as needed.

Facilitates events for university partners and college development officers by coordinating and executing program-related activities, based on the capacity and priorities of the Alumni team.

Plays a key role in planning and executing major university events such as Homecoming, Reunions, the Alumni Awards Ceremony, Grandparents U, Summer Golf Outings, and others as assigned.

Represents the university and the Alumni Association at various events and performs additional duties as assigned by the director of alumni and donor engagement.

Provides additional support to the Alumni Engagement staff as needed.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors Degree.

Experience working with web programs/applications.

Possession of a valid drivers license.

Ability to become authorized to operate university-owned vehicles and adhere to the universitys Operation of Motorized Utility Vehicles policy.

Organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to travel and work evenings/weekends as needed.

Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred Qualifications

One year of experience, preferably in alumni relations, public relations, hospitality service, or other related fields.

Experience planning and executing in-person and virtual events in alumni relations, public relations, hospitality services, or other related fields.

Experience with event management and coordinating events.

Knowledge and use of software platforms: Fundraising Performance Management, Raisers Edge, Blackbaud, Thankview and 12Twenty.
