Summary The Manager, Financial Reporting is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to staff within the corporate Accounting Department related to Financial Reporting and Accounting Financial Systems teams. Responsibilities: Oversee financial reporting within the Accounting Department (e.g. GAAP actual vs. prior year for monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements) Management of departmental internal controls Coordination of internal/external financial statement audit Oversee accounting systems integrity across Accounting team as key liaison between Finance and IT to support system implementations and upgrades (for areas that support General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Treasury and Financial Reporting teams within the Accounting department) Job Functions: Support, and manage the performance and productivity of daily operations of the Financial Reporting & Accounting Financial Systems teams in Accounting Oversee daily operations of the Financial Reporting and Accounting Systems Analysts teams as it relates to meeting pre-defined goals and deadlines Provide continual feedback and guidance to the team Continually challenge Accounting processes and recommend improvements Maintain system of internal controls with the department and advise the Director of Accounting & Treasury Services and/or organization, as specifically needed, of internal controls related to other areas Be familiar with the fiscal policies and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management regarding these policies. Provide direction in the implementation of these policies. Recruit, select, train, evaluate, coach/counsel and when appropriate terminate staff. Handle staff issues regarding performance in accordance with Moffitt policies Ensure documentation and support is maintained or updated for related team duties and tasks Collaborate with Accounting Manager and Accounts Payable Treasury Manager for cross functional needs to ensure timely and accurate Accounting Department deliverables Education and Experience: Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or directly related field Preferred Education: Master’s Degree Minimum of seven (7) years experience, including the following: Maintenance or experience with consolidated general ledger using integrated financial systems External financial reporting experience in a multi-company structure Analytical skills with the ability to summarize and present data in tight deadline driven environment Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory and/or project team lead experience with strong communication skills Must have successfully passed the CPA exam. (CPA designation does not have to be active) Excellent customer service and problem solving skills in detail oriented environment Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to document, implement and enforce related departmental policies and procedures Ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite Preferred Experience Experience with healthcare and non-profit accounting Proficiency with integrated ERP (Workday or Lawson) Moffitt Cancer Center is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
