The position will also be responsible for assisting operations personnel in operating, troubleshooting, and repairing high purity, high reliability gas supply systems at electronics facility. This person is expected to be the operational expert on both plant and utility systems associated with the production of ultra-high purity gases. In addition, this person will be required to interface with the customer technical experts on all phases of plant operations. Primary Responsibilities
The Operations Support Engineer for Electronics is part of a growing team of engineers and operations specialists providing technical support to operating plants that supply high purity electronics customers. Some of the Technical Support Engineer’s Job duties: Assisting in the execution of new plant projects by providing direct assistance to region management and the Plant Operations Lead (POL). In some cases, may act as POL for assigned projects.
Assisting plant and engineering team in performance of HAZOP analysis of plants, and resolution of action items.
Leading efforts to complete Failure Mode and Effects Analysis of installed and new design plants and systems.
Facilitate Root Cause Analysis and 8D generation and presentation to customers for plant issues.
Provide training to plant operations teams on plants and electronics procedures.
Assist plant management in preparation and review of Site Specific Standard Operating Procedures for operations and maintenance.
Coordinate resources and act as an additional resource to plants when extra outside support is needed.
Provide both remote and on-site troubleshooting assistance and guidance to plant operating personnel.
Assist plant with identifying and implementing productivity improvement ideas. Will have individual goal for required productivity improvement projects.
Provide for sharing of lessons learned and best practices between electronics facilities and across regions.
Work as a team within central support organization and across regions to facilitate plants meeting customer expectations.
Strong working knowledge of ultra-high purity systems, including piping systems, product purifiers, filtration, and analytical systems.
Strong understanding of the electronics industry purity requirements and risks associated with deviations.
Helps plants coordinate operations with Central Control Room personnel and helps provide plant specific training.
Support commercial teams and region with presentations and discussions with customers and Linde management.
Qualifications
Educational & Technical Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 4 years technical work experience (Engineering or Operations).
Hands on plant operations experience, and experience in the semiconductor industry or equivalent high purity applications is required.
Additional Skill Requirements: Candidate must be a highly organized self-starter capable of working independently. Must have excellent communication skills (both orally and written), with an ability to deal with multiple levels of the internal organization, suppliers, and customers. This is a central support role; the candidate must be able to work across organizational lines to accomplish their goals. Travel up to 25% normally, although could be higher during project execution or production issues. Carrying a cell phone and availability to plant personnel for off hours assistance is required.
