This role is part of Alcon's Sales & Sales Support function, a team that helps provide access to products across all channels in an effort to drive customer satisfaction with eye care professionals to help people see brilliantly. The Sr. Associate I, Surgical Field Sales (Professional Path) is primarily responsible for achieving sales targets by selling surgical ophthalmic products within the assigned territory. You will build strong relationships with customers, address their needs, and ensure satisfaction through product demonstrations and support.
Specifics Include:
Achieve sales targets for specific accounts or territories
Promote and sell Alcon products through various sales activities
Develop relationships with key opinion leaders and high-volume users
Discover and develop new business opportunities
Execute a sales plan and strategy
Frequently visit customers and provide necessary support
Participate in and conduct events and meetings to update customers on products, services, and prices
Create and maintain a customer database
Conduct competitive market analysis to maintain Alcon's product market share and react to competition
Provide timely reports and ensure accurate documentation of sales activities and customer interactions according to company needs
Qualifications:
Associate shall have the appropriate education and experience to successfully perform the responsibilities/activities of this role.
The Vitreoretinal Account Manager is responsible for achieving sales targets of posterior and combined procedural products, including capital equipment and consumables, within hospitals, teaching institutions, ambulatory surgery centers, and corporate accounts. This role involves partnering with various stakeholders such as surgeons, OR staff, and purchasing departments, facilitating education and training on Alcon’s vitreoretinal portfolio, managing expenses, supporting marketing plans, coordinating demos, and ensuring service and quality standards. The position requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, fluency in English, and over five years of sales experience, preferably in high-end medical devices or capital equipment consultative selling.
Job Responsibilities:
Achieve sales quotas for posterior and combined (CAT/VIT) procedural products, including Capital Equipment (UNITY VCS, CONSTELLATION VISION SYSTEM, PUREPOINT LASER, and NGENUITY), Consumable Procedural Paks, Grieshaber Disposables, Laser Probes, Tamponades, and other standalone products.
Serve as the primary contact for accounts' vitreoretinal needs, collaborating with various external personnel such as Surgeons/Clinicians, O.R. Staff, Purchasing, Administration, Biomed, Infection Control, Central Sterile, and other decision-makers.
Engage with Hospitals, Teaching Institutions, Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs), and Corporate Account Entities.
Educate key physicians, residents, and fellows on Alcon’s vitreoretinal equipment and consumables to promote proper usage and company messaging in accordance with Marketing Brand Plan guidance
Coordinate vitreoretinal wet lab and training activities across all Alcon functional groups.
Manage expenses within prescribed guidelines.
Facilitate demo processes to drive sales of capital equipment and consumables.
Maintain territory administrative records in appropriate IT CRM systems.
Coordinate joint selling opportunities with Cataract and relevant U.S. Surgical teammates.
Support and implement Corporate Account contracts.
Coordinate service repairs for Alcon vitreoretinal equipment and report quality issues to Medical Safety.
Transport equipment for demo purposes and meet routine overnight travel requirements.
Be accessible for after-hours communications to assist with Alcon vitreoretinal technology questions and needs.
