Responsibilities
Participates in the development of departmental and/or college-wide projects, goals, and strategic plans, which includes analyzing problems and developing recommendations for improving processes and practices; coordinates the implementation of approved changes; coordinates quality control checks for projects and completed work.
Installs and configures applicable computing system software, operating systems, customized applications, networks, phone systems, and other applicable items; prepares related system documentation.
Coordinates, oversees, and participates in daily technology support activities; provides advanced level support and troubleshooting of computing problems.
Performs advanced diagnostic analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of computing problems, including multiple-level software conflicts.
Assists and participates in identifying, designing, planning, and implementing technological improvements and/or adaptations to critical projects, policies, and services on a local or enterprise-wide level.
Researches and recommends the procurement of hardware, software, equipment, materials, and related items from available vendors; prepares applicable specifications and requests for quotes.
Installing, configuring, maintaining, updating, and administering applicable fiber and copper hardware, as well as IOS software.
Installing, configuring, maintaining, updating, administering, and auditing security and errors on multiple firewalls and related Cisco security software.
Installing, configuring, maintaining, updating, and administering backup systems for applicable operating systems, including disk-to-disk-to-tape, switches, routers, and other applicable items.
Installing, configuring, maintaining, and updating phone and associated voicemail systems.
Installing, configuring, maintaining, updating, and administering microwave communication systems.
Installing, configuring, maintaining, updating, and administering servers through VMware.
Installing, configuring, maintaining, updating, and administering applicable wireless hardware and software.
Provide support for the college's cybersecurity operations and administration in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and programs.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
