Job Summary:
The Oracle DBA is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of Oracle databases. The role ensures the availability, security, and integrity of data while supporting application teams and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle databases across development, test, and production environments.
Monitor database performance and tune SQL queries, indexes, and database parameters to ensure optimal performance.
Perform backup and recovery operations, implement disaster recovery strategies, and ensure data integrity.
Manage database security by granting/restricting user access and enforcing policies.
Design and implement database structures, including tablespaces, schemas, indexes, and partitions.
Troubleshoot database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and application errors.
Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to support application deployment and database changes.
Automate routine tasks using scripts, tools, and utilities (e.g., RMAN, Data Pump, Shell scripting).
Maintain documentation of database architecture, configurations, and processes.
Participate in database migration, consolidation, and upgrade projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Strong experience with Oracle Database versions (e.g., 11g, 12c, 19c).
Experience with backup/recovery tools (RMAN, Data Pump) and disaster recovery solutions.Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning.
Knowledge of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and ASM is a plus.Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
