Tech Support Specialist I (Network Support Technician) – Charlotte, NC / Hybrid – W2 Contract position (6 months, potential to hire). Work location: Charlotte, NC, hybrid (onsite Mondays and Wednesdays alternate weeks). Shift: 8 am – 5 pm. Reports to: Sr. Manager, Network Support.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with remote network setups, configurations, and ongoing support.

Ensure compliance with PCI standards for retail operations.

Partner with Cyber Security, Technology Delivery, ISPs, POS vendors, and business stakeholders to support network initiatives.

Deliver customer support with proactive communication, documentation, and escalation procedures.

Utilize Cisco Meraki full‑stack solutions (security appliances, switches, APs, and cellular gateways).

Take ownership of cases, focusing on career growth and technical development.

Provide support via phone, chat, portal, and remote tools.

Troubleshoot WAN/LAN/ISP connectivity, enterprise/local wireless, firewalls, VPNs.

Validate PCI‑compliant network designs and assist in network security configuration.

Collaborate with vendors and technicians to install/maintain internet services.

Ensure policy compliance and audit remediation.

Participate in on‑call rotation for after‑hours coverage.

Qualifications:

5 + years experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues in large LAN/WAN environments.

5 + years networking experience; strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, OSI, etc.

CCNA certification or equivalent.

Strong knowledge of PCI DSS, retail network connectivity.

Experience with VPN technologies, remote support tools.

Hands‑on with Cisco Meraki cloud‑managed solutions preferred.

Experience with ticket management systems such as Zendesk.

Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.

Self‑driven, career‑growth minded, continuous learning.

Required Experience:

Minimum 3 years of networking experience (5 years preferred).

Routing/switching hardware, structured cabling, Cisco/Meraki environments.

Ticketing system use (Zendesk) – managing and updating tickets.

Exposure to network monitoring portal (nice to have).
