Coldwater Hatchery Coordinator (CHC) Location: Nashville, TN – Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Fisheries Division, Davidson County. The CHC may work from any of TWRAs four management regions and must work from an Agency regional office, hatchery, or other facility.

Job Type: Full‑Time. Salary: Annual $86,256 – $133,944 (Monthly $7,188 – $11,162). Opening Date: 10/21/2025. Closing Date: 11/03/2025.

Job Summary The Coldwater Hatchery Coordinator (CHC) will provide general oversight and administration of TWRAs four trout hatcheries, supervise hatchery managers, and coordinate with national hatcheries and the Rivers and Streams Program Manager to ensure adequate trout availability for management needs throughout Tennessee.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, supervise, and coordinate the implementation of projects and programs to promote optimum wildlife habitat development across a large geographic area.

Analyze and interpret biological and sociological data to recommend agency action.

Develop project budgets, gather information from multiple sources, and support decision-making and implementation.

Generate reporting and plans, including annual budget reports, grant reports, quarterly reports, and program management plans.

Lead conservation work for species or groups, collaborating with research institutions for protection and recovery of listed species statewide.

Coordinate with federal and local governments on mutual programs and projects, monitoring progress to meet agency goals.

Recommend personnel actions such as hiring, retention, promotion, demotion, and other related actions.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in wildlife or fisheries management, wildlife biology, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

Three years of full‑time, increasingly responsible professional wildlife resources work.

Substitution:

Additional graduate coursework in wildlife management may substitute for up to one year of experience.

Possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license at the time of appointment.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUI or reckless driving, no more than four moving violations in the past five years).
