Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated A1 Technician to join our dynamic team. As an A1 Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support for various audio and sound‑related productions. Your role will be critical in ensuring top‑quality audio delivery for live events, broadcasts, concerts, conferences, and other entertainment projects. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of audio equipment, signal flow, and troubleshooting techniques to maintain a seamless audio experience for our audiences.

Key Responsibilities

Audio Setup and Configuration: Set up, install, and configure audio equipment, including microphones, sound consoles, speakers, amplifiers, and other related gear according to the specific event requirements.

Sound Mixing and Engineering: Operate and manage audio mixing consoles during live events and performances, ensuring optimal sound quality, balance, and clarity for the audience and participants.

System Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct rigorous testing and checks of audio systems before and during events to identify and resolve any technical issues promptly, minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth operations.

Collaboration with Production Team: Collaborate closely with directors, producers, event organizers, and other technical teams to understand their audio needs and integrate sound seamlessly into the overall production.

Audio Recording: Assist in recording audio for events, ensuring high‑quality capture for archival purposes, post‑production, or live streaming.

Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect, clean, and maintain audio equipment to ensure optimal performance, longevity, and adherence to safety standards.

Knowledge Sharing: Stay up‑to‑date with advancements in audio technologies and techniques, and share knowledge with team members to foster continuous improvement in audio production practices.

Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during setup, dismantling, and operation of audio systems to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Flexibility and Adaptability: Be prepared to work in various settings, including studios, event venues, outdoor locations, and potentially irregular hours, depending on project requirements.

Requirements

Proven experience as an A1 Technician or a similar role in the audio production industry.

Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting audio equipment such as mixing consoles, microphones, speakers, amplifiers, and audio signal processors.

Strong understanding of audio signal flow and an ability to troubleshoot complex audio‑related issues efficiently.

Familiarity with different audio formats, protocols, and digital audio workstations (DAWs).

Knowledge of audio networking protocols, such as Dante or AVB, is a plus.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle last‑minute changes or unexpected challenges.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams effectively.

Demonstrated passion for audio technology and a keen ear for sound quality.

Physical stamina to handle heavy audio equipment and perform manual labor when necessary.

A proactive and detail‑oriented approach to work, with a focus on delivering exceptional audio experiences.
