Job Description
Etsy is seeking a talented social media Copywriter to join our Brand Marketing team. In this role, you’ll craft compelling, platform‑native ad copy for paid social campaigns across multiple platforms. Reporting to the Senior Producer, Paid Social Creative, you’ll be responsible for expressing Etsy’s brand voice and engaging consumer audiences while driving results. You’ll play a crucial role in helping Etsy develop effective paid social creative that connects with consumers across every stage of the funnel.
Availability 40 hours per week. This hybrid role must be within commuting distance to our Brooklyn headquarters and available to work out of office as needed (typically in the office 2x per week).
What You’ll Do
Write engaging ad copy for Etsy’s paid social campaigns across multiple platforms including Meta (Facebook, Instagram), TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest.
Adapt your copywriting style to fit the unique voice and user behavior of each platform while maintaining Etsy’s brand identity.
Create copy for a variety of ad formats including video content, dynamic listing ads and other paid social placements.
Collaborate with Brand and Content leads to develop consistent messaging that aligns with campaign objectives.
Incorporate key value propositions and brand messages in ways that resonate with target audiences, while maintaining a social‑first tone.
Develop multiple copy variations for A/B testing to optimize performance.
Stay current on social media trends and vernacular used across multiple platforms.
Use insights from past campaigns to inform copy strategies and evolve our creative approach.
Work within tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining high quality content and attention to detail.
Qualifications
3‑5 years of experience in social copywriting for a large brand or creative agency, with specific experience writing for paid social campaigns.
Demonstrated skill in writing concise, compelling copy that drives engagement and conversions while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
An in‑depth understanding of the community dynamics and vernacular used on social – you’re deeply immersed in channels like TikTok, YouTube and Threads.
Ability to adapt your writing style for different audiences, platforms and campaign objectives – from fun and playful to more thoughtful and serious.
Strong understanding of platform‑specific best practices and content formats.
A portfolio showcasing successful social media copy, preferably for paid campaigns.
Excellent editing and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Strong collaborative skills and ability to incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders.
A passion for supporting small businesses, creativity and craftsmanship.
