About the Role:
The editorial team of Nature Communications seeks an editor who can critically evaluate scientific manuscripts in digital health and computational biology, bring a broad perspective, and collaborate across our journal family.
Responsibilities
Handle original research papers and work closely with other editors on manuscript selection and peer‑review oversight.
Make well‑reasoned editorial decisions based on expert advice and the journal’s standards.
Define and shape the representation of the subject area within the journal.
Collaborate with editors at other Nature family journals and experts in the scientific community.
Attend conferences and visit research institutions to stay current in the field.
Commission and edit reviews, and write editorials.
Qualifications
A PhD (or equivalent) in digital health, computational biology, or a related field.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fluent in written and spoken English.
Strong understanding of recent trends and developments in the discipline.
Passion for science, breadth of research interests, and eagerness to engage scientists worldwide.
Ability to assess novelty, context, and implications of research across sub‑disciplines.
Travel willingness and capacity to meet global researchers.
Editorial experience is not required but is viewed favorably.
