ABL Relationship & Portfolio Manager - NYC/Remote
Overview We are currently partnered with a fast‑growing private credit firm to hire an ABL Portfolio & Relationship Manager. This role is client‑facing and focuses on asset‑based lending (ABL), portfolio management, and credit monitoring. The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of relevant experience and is ready to take ownership of a healthy, active portfolio.
This role is US‑based and offers remote flexibility. If you’re in the NYC area, a hybrid schedule (2 days in‑office) is available, but remote applicants across the U.S. are welcome.
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in ABL, commercial finance, or a related lending environment
Strong understanding of credit risk, collateral structures, and financial statement analysis
Experience with receivables, inventory, and covenant monitoring
Proven relationship management skills with the ability to independently manage borrower interactions
Familiarity with loan documentation, legal negotiations, and external counsel engagement
Prior workout experience is a plus
Leadership or mentoring experience is preferred
Experience in a bank or non‑bank setting – either background works if you bring the right skill set
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients, managing the full lifecycle of the lending relationship
Make funding‑related decisions based on financial health, risk exposure, and collateral monitoring
Analyze financial statements, monitor covenants, and assess risk related to receivables, inventory, and other collateral
Lead discussions around facility structure, documentation, and amendments
Partner with external counsel on legal documentation and negotiations
Mentor junior analysts on the portfolio team
Identify early warning signs and manage potential workouts or restructures when necessary
