The
Database Administrator (DBA) Level 3
position is part of the team responsible for the operational support of business-critical database systems. The DBA Level 3 (Senior DBA) performs tasks needed to administer Microsoft SQL Server. The Sr. DBA demonstrates strong communication skills, the ability to build functional relationships with team members and users, and excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Schedule:
Full-time shifts typically include eight-hour days Monday through Friday, with evenings and weekends off, although may be adjusted to align with clinic’s operational hours. Compensation:
Pay range depending on experience. Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits Life and long-term disability insurance provided at no additional expense to employee Paid time off (PTO) including holidays Extended Sick Bank (ESB) in addition to PTO – paid time for doctor appointments, sickness, or medical leave Retirement plans with $.50 of each contributed dollar matched for eligible employees, up to 8 percent Education reimbursement Employee assistance program Wellness program Among others Responsibilities What You Can Expect: Monitor database server health and performance Install, patch, configure, and maintain SQL Server Analyze and resolve common and complex issues/faults in SQL Server and related infrastructure, providing issue resolution end-to-end Query and understand data from SQL Server system dynamic management objects Write T-SQL queries and scripts to investigate issues Maintain a high degree of security by implementing changes to access rights in SQL Server and Windows Server Work with other IT teams to identify and understand technical needs and solutions Work with other IT teams to analyze and resolve issues Review relational database designs and T-SQL code for application development teams Upgrade SQL Server to newer versions Migrate databases between servers and platforms Research and implement improvements to database system performance, integrity, security, and compliance Create, maintain, and follow database administration team standards and procedures Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotating basis Flexible to work off-hours, including weekends and holidays, as required Perform other tasks and functions as needed Able to challenge, mentor, and grow the skills of junior DBAs (and possibly developers) Qualifications Successful Candidates Bring: Strong organizational skills Strong attention to detail Good judgment Strong interpersonal communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Able to work harmoniously and effectively with others Able to preserve confidentiality and exercise discretion Able to work under pressure A self-starter who desires to show ownership and commitment to the job Proofreads accurately Education/Training: A minimum of 5 years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in production environments A minimum of 5 years of experience writing T-SQL A minimum of 5 years of experience working with relational database concepts SQL Server administration experience including: SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Agent, Database auditing and control, Database security, Database design and code development, Troubleshooting and resolving faults in SQL Server and related infrastructure, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) Microsoft Azure database administration experience Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server Strong understanding of relational database concepts (e.g., tables, columns, rows, primary keys, foreign keys, indexes, normalization) Strong understanding of security and permissions in SQL Server Proven troubleshooting skills Strong analysis and critical thinking skills Strong documentation skills Preferred: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information science, information systems management, or equivalent Administering databases for in-house-built applications Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements as it relates to database administration DCI is committed to building a diverse and inclusive organization.
