Consumer Loan Processor I Northrop Grumman Federal Credit Union (NGFCU)

Base pay range:

$20.88/hr - $29.23/hr

Summary of Primary Functions Under supervision will need exceptional customer service skills and will be responsible for the promotion of credit union products and services. The role involves assisting with daily member inquiries, originating loan applications for all consumer loan products, preparing member correspondence, and working with members and loan officers to determine the best loan program for each member.

Key Responsibilities

Assist members with inquiries regarding credit union loan programs, policies, and procedures.

Originate and process all consumer loan applications across all channels, including online, phone, and in‑branch.

Prepare member correspondence related to loan applications, such as pre‑approval letters and marketing promotions.

Work with members to determine the most suitable loan program and submit the application to a loan officer.

Calculate and review the HYLS recommendation for each loan.

Review and make approval, counter‑offer, or denial recommendations.

Follow up on each loan with the member and loan officer until a final decision is reached.

When loans are declined, explain the reason to the member and offer suggestions for improvement.

Submit all loan requests in a timely manner consistent with the organization’s service objectives.

Use the credit union defined matrix to offer preliminary loan approval when appropriate.

Interface with loan officer on behalf of members and provide follow‑up and advice on loan decisions.

Provide basic and routine real estate information.

Ensure the completeness and accuracy of all documents received.

Monitor incoming loan applications from all channels and facilitate the loan transaction from origination through to funding.

Process approved loan applications for all consumer loan products.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Two years’ experience within a financial institution with a successful track record in sales, lending, and customer service.

Advanced knowledge of teller functions, new accounts, member service, and loan products.

Effective organizational and communication skills.

Intermediate level computer skills.
