Overview & Responsibilities The Accountant II main function is to support the day-to-day functions of the Americas Region Ledgers and Controls team, including preparing financial statements, performing reconciliations, analyzing financial data, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable.
This role requires frequent interaction within the Americas Shared Service Center, Corporate Functions (payroll, tax, fixed assets) as well as with colleagues from all regions.
Responsibilities include adherence to controls as it relates to expense and revenue recognition, fixed asset management, payroll, inventory management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, intercompany, and recording and monitoring reserves.
The Accountant II will also support the Americas region month end close process, perform POC revenue recognition calculations, and other trial balance account analysis, validations, and reconciliations as assigned. This position requires adherence to Elliott accounting policies and procedures and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
Job Responsibilities
Participate in month end close activities (journal entries, calculations and analysis, inter-unit and other account validations).
Support the Physical Inventory (stock, WIP, fixed assets).
Support US GAAP/IFRS revenue recognition and accurate cost.
Reconcile activity in the general ledger to ensure completeness and accuracy for financial reporting.
Preparation of Balance Sheet Reconciliations in ARCS – Oracle.
Prepare variance analysis to prior periods as requested.
Support financial reporting for a Product Line in accordance with guidelines and provide accurate, consistent, and timely data.
Support Internal and External Audits.
Process payroll for the Service Centers.
Fixed Asset Management for Global Service.
Maintaining Warranty files for Global Services.
Support Accounts Receivable function as needed.
Assist the Accounts Payable team with vendor invoice processing, weekly payments, and generate reports detailing accounts payable status.
Identify synergies with the Americas Regional Accounting management team to improve workflow effectiveness.
Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
Undertake special assignments and projects as directed by Accounting Manager or the Regional Controller.
Job Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in a business related major and at least three years directly related work experience.
Advanced personal computer skills necessary with experience in spreadsheets, word processing, databases and computerized accounting systems.
Experience supporting and interacting with Operations and strong financial controls background.
