Position Summary:
The Billing Specialist at Orlando Hand Surgery Associates (OHSA) plays a vital role in the financial operations of the practice by ensuring accurate and timely billing of patient services. This position is responsible for charge entry, claim submission, payment posting, and follow-up on outstanding accounts. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of insurance guidelines, EOBs, and medical coding, along with a commitment to accuracy and customer service. Work Location:
801 North Orange Avenue, Suite 600/530, Orlando, Florida 32801 Work Hours:
Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5 pm Key Responsibilities: Greet patients by name wearing OHSA uniform and nametag Answer all incoming calls from patients about balance and insurance issues. Must have strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPS coding systems. Minimum of 2 years of coding experience, preferably in orthopedic care Ability to work independently Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. CPC (certification in professional coding required) Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excell Attention to detail and able to take initiative to resolve discrepancies with coding or claims issues. Deep knowledge of medical coding, Including ICD-10 and CPT. Ability to educate staff and providers on coding requirements. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in medical billing/coding preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical billing or revenue cycle role, preferably in an orthopedic or surgical setting. Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding. Familiarity with insurance billing guidelines (Medicare, commercial payers, workers' comp, etc.). Experience with EMR and billing software; Athena experience a plus. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. About OHSA:
