Your Specific Responsibilities
Serve as a Bioterrorism (BT) Defense training coordinator for CDC Laboratory Response Network (LRN)-B Sentinel Laboratory training activities related to the CDC Cooperative Agreement for Public Health Preparedness and the Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Capabilities National Standards.
Work under very general supervision to provide training to sentinel hospital laboratory personnel, first responders, and DOH employees, requiring considerable independent judgement, initiative and ongoing self-study.
Schedule, register participants for, facilitate, and/or conduct LRN-B Sentinel Laboratory training and Division 6.2 Packaging and Shipping training in coordination with biodefense coordinators and the Tampa-based BT trainer using manual, TRAIN, webinars and other methods.
Assemble and ship training materials as needed; maintain contact with Sentinel Laboratories via in-person visits, telephone, and/or email; facilitate and conduct Sentinel Laboratory drills and exercises.
Update LRN Sentinel Laboratory training curriculum with assistance of the Tampa-based BT trainer, covering modules such as LRN procedures, referral of suspicious samples, packaging and shipping rules, CAP LPX, CDC Select Agent Program, novel influenza and emerging infectious diseases, and biosafety.
Enter participant training and/or drill information into the BT database and CE broker; generate and distribute training certificates; send training and other announcements to sentinel laboratories.
Conduct First Responder Sample Collection Classes as scheduled by the First Responder Training Coordinator.
Perform related duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to gather and learn information, problem solve, and work independently.
Excellent communication skills with outstanding oral, written, editing, and presentation/training abilities.
Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
Strong time-management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data; understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Ability to establish working relationships with diverse groups.
Ability to work in a team environment as a flexible, adaptable, and active contributor.
Skilled with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Qualifications
Minimum:
Hold a valid Driver License.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree, 2 years of experience.
