A Building and Grounds Manager oversees the maintenance, repair, and improvement of company facilities and grounds, ensuring that building systems operate efficiently and environments remain clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing. The manager leads maintenance staff and coordinates with external vendors and contractors to meet all safety, health, and environmental standards.
Overview This role will have dual responsibility for overseeing building and grounds for the CNY plant while supporting the maintenance department.
Key Responsibilities (Building and Grounds)
Perform routine maintenance tasks on buildings, facilities, and equipment.
Conduct inspections to identify and address maintenance needs, including repairs and replacements.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the grounds, ensuring a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment.
Oversee landscaping, including mowing, trimming, and planting as necessary.
Assist in managing inventory for maintenance supplies and equipment.
Collaborate with vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repair tasks.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing duties.
Lead employees or contractors assigned to assist in building and grounds site work.
Maintain a current open items list for building and grounds to discuss with the Plant Maintenance Manager weekly.
Conduct sprinkler pipe testing and inspection as required by insurance underwriters.
Promptly communicate any issues with the Plant Maintenance Manager and the Plant Manager.
Key Responsibilities (Maintenance)
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery, equipment, and facilities at the direction of the Plant Maintenance Manager.
Conduct inspections to identify and address maintenance needs promptly.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues, utilizing technical expertise to resolve problems effectively.
Perform electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry tasks as required.
Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure efficient operations.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations in all maintenance activities.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.
Skills Required
Age requirement of 18 years or older.
Proficient in written and verbal communication.
Proven experience in building and grounds maintenance or a related field.
Knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, and techniques.
Ability to perform physical tasks and lift heavy objects as required.
Strong attention to detail.
Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.
Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a similar role.
Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs.
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Education And Experience
High School diploma.
1‑2 years experience.
