Strategic Account Executive, Financial Services Base pay range:

$159,000.00/yr - $186,750.00/yr

About the Role As a member of the Confluent Sales Team, the Strategic Account Executive is responsible for selling Confluent solutions to our financial services segment. You will use prospecting, sales, negotiation, and leadership skills to effectively sell Confluent offerings to leading companies and meet or exceed your quarterly sales target. A "consumption/growth" mentality with a proven track record in a value‑driven sales model is required.

What You Will Do

Drive revenue growth in large, complex, and highly visible accounts within the Financial Services sector.

Proactively prospect, qualify, develop, and close a sales pipeline while continuing to grow consumption in current customer accounts.

Lead, drive, and execute a strategic complex sales cycle with responsibility for demonstrating Confluent’s value at C‑Level.

Become an in‑depth expert/SME of Confluent offerings, product suites, and competitive landscape.

Develop a deep understanding of customers, their strategies, and business goals to become a trusted advisor.

Work closely with partner ecosystem teams to sell to or through the ecosystem.

Align closely with Solutions Engineering, Professional Services, and Customer Success Management to deliver world‑class customer experience, identify expansion opportunities, and renewals.

What You Will Bring

12+ years of quota‑carrying sales experience, ideally focused on financial services.

Prior experience in Big Data, Consumption, Cloud, SaaS, Open Source, or Enterprise IT Solutions.

Sales methodology training (e.g., MEDDPICC, Challenger).

Proven ability to lead and execute a highly complex sales strategy to drive revenue growth.

Consistent track record of success and overachievement of quota attainment.

Excellent skills in relationship building, customer relations, and negotiation.

Experience developing and improving processes and managing change within an organization.

Open to travel to customer locations as needed.

BS/BA degree or equivalent preferred.
