Position Summary
Supervise a team of Unit Human Resources Coordinators to ensure student and on‑call staffing needs are met in a timely and efficient manner and in compliance with University, State, and Federal hiring guidelines.
Audit and enter student and on‑call hiring transactions and paperwork, including EBS forms and reporting, approve job postings in PeopleAdmin, maintain accurate postings in Handshake, initiate and monitor background checks, verify I‑9s, and analyze student hiring and employee data.
Supervise and oversee work performed by the Unit Human Resources Coordinators, support investigation and progressive discipline processes for student and on‑call team members.
Lead point of contact for questions related to student promotions and pay increases, PeopleAdmin hiring workflow, and the University’s and SLE’s student and on‑call hiring practices and procedures.
Serve as the PeopleAdmin applicant tracking software lead, providing user group functions, troubleshooting system issues, and training end users.
Attend recruitment events and activities, coordinating the Student and On‑call Team’s involvement.
Review and process student pay requests, ensuring equitable pay increases, and review student rehire eligibility requests.
Consult with SLE HR Leadership on recommendations, and serve as the division subject matter expert for student I‑9 compliance.
Draft and update student job descriptions, letter of offer templates, and student and on‑call team member guides; coach units with student and on‑call appointments.
Oversee RVI document imaging for SLE employee records, train student employees on the process, and validate data entered before purging records.
As a critical status position, be expected to report to work during university closures, modifications, or suspensions unless remotely allowed.
Minimum Requirements Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four‑year college degree program in human resources or a related field; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a human resources function or an area related to departmental operations such as using an applicant tracking system; experience working with a diverse community of student employees; knowledge of inclusive and equitable hiring policies and processes for student, on‑call, and temporary employees; knowledge of MSU HR and MSU Business Manual policies, recruiting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with PeopleAdmin applicant tracking software, Equifax, IChat, Microsoft Office suite, and Enterprise Business System (EBS).
