Human Resources Manager
— Anchorage, AK (Fully in-office) Compensation : $80,000 DOE, with Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, and more. Responsibilities
Lead HR across operations, reporting to the CEO and partnering with executive staff. Oversee all aspects of human resources, including generalist support, talent management, compliance, labor relations, and employee engagement. Provide hands-on support in recruiting, onboarding, and integrating new employees; conduct phone screens and in-person interviews; manage pre-employment activities. Guide performance evaluations, track training and certifications, and support succession planning, professional development, and skills training initiatives. Manage employee relations by advising supervisors on policy interpretation, handling sensitive personnel matters, coordinating employee communications, and fostering a positive, inclusive workplace culture. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws; manage personnel records, I-9s, terminations, DMV programs, and HR audits; support policy updates and regulatory adherence. Coordinate labor requests, apprenticeship programs, and compliance with local hire requirements in partnership with union representatives. Collaborate across teams to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; build trust and foster collaboration across employees and leadership. You need
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including generalist or management-level responsibility. Experience supporting both union and non-union workforces strongly preferred. Knowledge of construction industry practices, terminology, and workforce dynamics preferred. Demonstrated experience in employee relations, recruitment, benefits administration, and compliance. Three years of recruiting and HR Generalist experience. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and work both independently and in a team. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines; develop strong trusting relationships; manage multiple conflicting priorities. Proven ability to research and analyze information and make recommendations to resolve issues. Flexible, self-directed, motivated, and able to interact with employees at all levels. Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Experience with HR/payroll systems (e.g., ADP) and familiarity with ERP platforms (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint) considered an asset.
