Lead Teacher - 4K Extended Day SCO Family of Services

This role focuses on designing, implementing, and evaluating developmentally appropriate early childhood instruction for 4K extended day students. Candidates will collaborate with classroom teachers, the Education Director, and interdisciplinary teams to support each child's growth across all domains.

Responsibilities

Develop schemes of work and lesson plans aligned with curriculum goals.

Plan and implement individualized educational plans to support children’s social, intellectual, linguistic, physical, and emotional development.

Provide early learning experiences in social‑emotional development, literacy, language, mathematics, sciences, social studies, physical education, fine arts, foreign language, and other subject matter suited to each child's needs.

Create and maintain a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that fosters personal growth.

Prepare a variety of learning materials and resources for classroom use.

Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.

Integrate relevant technology to support instruction.

Observe and evaluate student performance and development.

Enter and maintain accurate classroom and child data.

Encourage and monitor individual student progress.

Maintain all required records, ensuring compliance with laws, district policies, and school regulations.

Collaborate regularly with the classroom teacher and the Education Director to review data, develop action plans, and support goal achievement.

Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.

Communicate student progress and needs to students, colleagues, and parents.

Stay current with developments in subject area, teaching resources, and methods, and adjust instructional plans accordingly.

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on all job duties.

Promote and support positive behavior support and pro‑social interactions among students and staff.

Support and participate in the behavior management program.

Attend in‑service training, staff meetings, and seminars as required.

Model integrity, respect, dignity, self‑control, and respect for all.

Engage in reflective supervision with the Education Director.

Implement all programming requirements in accordance with performance outcome standards and funding/multifund requirements.

Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment, including daily health and environment checks.

Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's/Master's degree in early childhood education or a related field from an accredited institution; New York State certification preferred.

Master’s degree with certification; salary $68,652/year.
