Mission Hospice & Home Care serves patients and families in the San Francisco Peninsula and South Bay with quality care and compassionate end-of-life support and education. Founded in 1979, we are a local, independent nonprofit that has provided thousands of patients and their families with physical, emotional, and spiritual support throughout the journey from a life-threatening diagnosis through death and bereavement.

The Volunteer Coordinator provides support to agencies by means of volunteer recruitment, supervision, and documentation as identified by the Volunteer Services Manager.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday; 8:30am - 5:00pm

San Mateo

Mission Hospice & Home Care follows all CDPH vaccine requirements for healthcare personnel.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (but are not limited to):

Coordinate recruitment, screening, orientation, training, and retention of volunteers in both clinical and nonclinical roles.

Select, assign, and remain an overall resource for volunteers.

Maintain volunteer personnel files according to BTBH policy and procedures.

Maintain current and updated volunteer records in the electronic database.

Provide education/orientation to agency staff regarding assignment, supervision, and maintaining effective working relationships with volunteers.

Education / Experience:

Associate degree (A.) or equivalent from two-year college; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum two years’ experience coordinating volunteer programs preferred.

Pay Range:

$28.00 - $38.00 hourly
