Description:
Our ideal candidate has experience supporting attorneys by performing routine and advanced tasks in a high-volume, complex litigation matters.
Responsibilities:
Provides support to prepare for depositions, hearings, trials, mediation and arbitration, including assistance with electronic preparation and presentation of trial exhibits and PowerPoint presentations.
Administers, creates and manages document databases.
Provides support for extensive electronic discovery.
Obtains and organizes case materials daily.
Prepares, organizes, and maintains deposition materials and summaries.
Working knowledge of e-filing.
Docketing and calendaring deadlines.
Travels nationwide as needed as part of trial team.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Paralegal certificate required.
Seeking someone from a top 100 law firm or a boutique litigation firm (ie. Susman Godfrey, Beck Redden, Ahmad, Zavitsanos & Mensing (AZA), Gibbs & Bruns, Quinn Emanuel, and Lightfoot Franklin, etc).
A minimum of 4 years of paralegal experience in civil litigation.
Must have trial experience (full cycle).
Must come from a large law firm or boutique firm.
Software knowledge must include the Microsoft suite of products, FileSite or other document management systems, and DTE or other time entry systems.
Excellent skills with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat, and the ability to type a minimum of 70 WPM.
Experience with Relativity, Trial Director, Outlook .pst files, Sanction, WestLaw, LexisNexis, internet searching and on-line court database systems.
Proven aptitude to learn new software applications.
Candidate must possess strong organizational and communication skills.
Proficiency in grammar, proofreading, and transcription.
Ability to work with people of all levels.
Exercise discretion with confidential and sensitive information and use good judgment while prioritizing needs of the firm.
Ability to work overtime, after hours or on weekends, when needed.
Ability to travel, as needed.
Strong attention to detail, ability to balance multiple projects, and have strong time management skills.
