Job purpose:
Facilitate the processing of new case filings, support court operations, and provide customer service to the public.
Responsibilities
Facilitate the process of new case filings in the court.
Assist with customer service over the phone or in person.
Process mail, motions, and other filings related to case management.
Provide customer assistance for civil matters, orders of protection, injunctions, and forcible detainers.
Assist the criminal clerk with sentencing details and surcharge information.
Process incoming cases and orders; maintain files and filing system.
Provide backup assistance as a criminal clerk.
Deliver policy and procedural answers to questions regarding civil issues and traffic cases, via phone or in person.
Issue correspondence, review files, and determine the best procedure as needed.
Process incoming civil cases, small claims cases, orders of protection, injunctions, and traffic cases with possible criminal entries.
Assist with criminal and traffic payments and help train new clerks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
