Position Summary
The Equipment Hauler will be responsible for safely loading, securing, and transporting heavy construction equipment between job sites, yards, and maintenance facilities. This position plays a vital role in supporting field operations by ensuring equipment arrives safely, on time, and in compliance with all DOT and company safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate lowboy and flatbed trucks to transport heavy equipment and machinery.
Perform proper loading, unloading, and securement of equipment using chains, binders, and other tie‑down devices.
Conduct thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections on trucks and trailers.
Maintain accurate transportation and delivery records.
Communicate effectively with project managers, mechanics, and field supervisors to coordinate hauls and schedules.
Ensure all loads meet DOT, state, and local regulations for oversize/overweight permitting.
Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of assigned truck and trailer.
Follow all company safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions or incidents promptly.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience hauling heavy equipment preferred.
Knowledge of DOT regulations, load securement, and oversize/overweight permitting.
Ability to operate and load heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, graders, and rollers (preferred).
Clean driving record and strong commitment to safety.
Must be dependable, self‑motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
Ability to climb on and off equipment and trailers safely.
Lift and secure heavy chains, binders, and tarps as needed.
Work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
