Job Overview The Technical Support Specialist is a member of the Equipment & Product Technical Support (EPTS) group. Responsibilities include provision of technical support via phone, video, e‑mail, and other channels to the sales and service organization. The role also involves training customers and staff, supporting projects for R&D and marketing, editing technical manuals, writing articles for the Technical Digest, developing training materials, and participating in system development and quality improvement teams.
What You Will Do
Provide telephone, e‑mail, video, social media, and other means of technical support to the Ecolab sales and service organization.
Provide routine call coverage at all levels of complexity, offering mid‑to‑high level technical consultation for at least one Ecolab core competency.
Contribute to new systems development, launch, and quality improvement teams.
Provide on‑site technical support and problem solving when required.
Prepare special reports and transfer follow‑up information via fax, e‑mail, U.S. mail, or phone.
Utilize the auto‑call distribution system and call log system to monitor equipment/product offerings and report issues to the appropriate system/product program leader.
Compose technical support literature such as SOPs, Technical Bulletins, and Technical Digest articles.
Represent Ecolab as a tour host at R&D and corporate account informational visits to customer locations as needed.
Complete special project assignments.
Develop training materials and train EPTS staff.
Travel for business up to 10% of work time.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree.
Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Demonstrated thorough knowledge of electrical wiring and plumbing.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
Knowledge of Ecolab’s cleaning and sanitation products, and advanced knowledge of Ecolab’s equipment design, function, and installation procedures.
Self‑motivated, able to work proactively and independently in a fast‑paced environment.
Typical candidates would have experience as a sales and service technician for Ecolab or an equipment manufacturer, or as sales representatives for a technically oriented company.
Compensation The pay range for this position is $56,200.00 – $84,400.00.
