Job Responsibilities

Oversee the entire Girls Softball Program.

Be knowledgeable about the game, particularly game management and rules.

Develop, monitor, supervise, and train student‑athletes to play Softball.

Develop and execute an effective training program.

Motivate and mentor student‑athletes on and off the field.

Instruct student‑athletes in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary for individual and team success.

Guide student‑athletes in developing moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self‑discipline, and self‑confidence.

Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development.

Ensure the safety and well‑being of student‑athletes.

Cooperate in a timely manner with the School Athletic Director and the District Athletic Department regarding information requests.

Meet all requirements mandated by the District Board of Education, OHSAA, and ODE for Coaches Tool Chest training/certification and Pupil Activity Permit.

Check academic eligibility status for all prospective student‑athletes.

Follow District Athletic Department policies as outlined in the Coaches Handbook and meet all criteria in the job description.

Model expected behavior for student‑athletes, including timeliness to practices and games, positivity, respect, constructive criticism, and discipline.

Maintain suitable sideline conduct with appropriate language at all times.

Accept and profit from constructive criticism to improve coaching performance.

Recognize and implement all applicable administrative policies set forth by the District Board of Education, Superintendents, Principals, Conference Leagues, ODE, and OHSAA.

Schedule and complete a full season of contests, including State Tournament games.

Provide all applicable in‑season training rules and out‑of‑season conduct rules to student‑athletes prior to season start; follow due process when violations occur.

Participate in clinics and other programs to improve coaching performance.

Participate in school events (Awards Night, Pep Assemblies, Athletic Booster Meetings, etc.).

Ensure the team is well‑prepared for opponents.

Maintain accurate inventory of equipment and supplies.

Skills / Qualifications

Fundraising experience.

Passionate and dedicated to inspiring student‑athletes.

Previous football experience preferred.

Ability to motivate and inspire student‑athletes.

Serve as a positive role model.

Demonstrated knowledge and skills associated with the sport.

Training / Certifications

Preferred if holding an Ohio Secondary Teaching Certificate.

Evidence of successful past coaching experience at the high school and/or college level is required.

Provide satisfactory results of County Police Records Check, State BCII Check, and FBI Fingerprint Background Check.

Possess an Ohio Department of Education (ODE) Pupil Activity Permit (PAP).

Provide proof of completion of Coaches Tool Chest (CTC) Training/Certification.

Contract Provisions

Type of contract: Supplemental Annual Limited.

Salary: Per Schedule E Contract of current C.F.T. Labor Agreement.

Reports to: School Principal.
