National Business Development Manager- Workforce Solution Sales & Recruiting to Business and Industry. Transmission Line Safety & Health Professional Direct Hire- Beautiful West Virginia- Not a remote position- $135-$150K DOE 100% paid Healthcare, Company Truck & Fuel My client is a contractor that provides repair and inspection services to the electric utility industry working across the U. S.
Your focus will be to perform field safety audits for both the Line Operations and Aviation Operations.
The Transmission Line Safety & Health Manager will be responsible for routine and ad hoc audits of crews working in remote locations across the U.S.
Responsibilities
The Field Safety & Health Manager primary responsibility and focus shall be safety and health oversight of the scope of work assigned to crews on field projects and at facilities.
The Field Safety & Health Manager secondary responsibility and focus shall be to provide safety coverage and weekly safety audit reports for our crews in the field wherever the projects are in the United States; at times projects may last for several weeks at a time and crews occasionally work seven days a week.
Actions specifically include, but is not limited to, initiation, enforcement, maintenance, and administration of project safety and health requirements of our employees; as well as other incident/injury prevention and reporting programs associated with our HSI Safety Management System (SMS) and customer requirements.
Writes (when needed in the absence of the Safety Director) customer safety documents such as Emergency Action Plans and Work Safety & Health Plans.
Work Hours: Varies from project to project; some projects may go into hours of darkness. Typically, 6:30 am – 4:30pm daily with 30-minute lunch equating to 50 hours per week. Overtime/weekends as circumstances warrant; on-call for serious emergencies or storm duty at times.
Acts, speaks, and dresses in a professional manner that represents the Company in a positive way.
Equipment/Machinery/Tools: An employee in this position must be knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of the various tools that crew members utilize -Hand tools: Various wrenches, hot sticks, hammers, saws, screwdrivers, etc. Power tools: Drills, grinders, press motors, chop saws, battery-powered tools, chop saws, etc.
Physical requirements: Constant need to be standing, and walking, and constant need to perform the following physical activities: Bend/stoop/squat/kneel, perform routine daily vehicle and equipment inspections, check oil and fluid levels on assigned pick-up, change spare tires, inspect fire extinguishers, lift counterweights/platforms, pickup tools and materials, crawl under vehicles and equipment, and (rarely) work using fall protection. Climb stairs and ladders. Push or Pull: Help move equipment, materials, open and close doors, etc. Lift 80 lbs. and reach above shoulders to retrieve items from storage trailers. Grasp, grip, turn handles, tools, and equipment.
Qualifications
A college level diploma in a safety related field, or a professional safety certification from an industry recognized safety organization (CSP, CUSP, and/or CSSP).
Successfully completed OSHA 30-hour training (OSHA 500 Preferred).
At least 5-five years of demonstrable safety management-related experience, or at least five years of increasing responsibility in professional, technical, safety management and/or electric utility operations (transmission preferred) experience.
Field experience in industries of Transmission Line maintenance and repair.
Strong computer skills and report writing and typing abilities.
Incident investigation and report writing training and field experience.
Basic knowledge of health-related subjects and environmental requirements.
Current certification in administration of First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Training.
