Lead Infant Teacher - Belmont Early Learning Center
Base pay range: $18.56/hr - $19.65/hr Summary: Are you motivated to make a difference in the lives of children? Join our team at the Boys & Girls Club. Responsibilities include planning, implementing, supervising, and establishing a nurturing classroom environment that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, creative, physical, and linguistic development of members in cooperative involvement with their families. Other duties are described below under program development and supervision. Duties
Prepare Youth for Success: create an environment that facilitates Youth Development Outcomes; respond sensitively to the interests, requests, and needs of individual children; interact positively with children; encourage exploration; use positive child guidance strategies. Provide guidance and role modeling by planning and outlining curriculum to meet individual needs, incorporating elements of an emergent curriculum. Establish and maintain program goals to ensure health and safety of all members. Evaluate Club programs, track outcome metrics, and ensure activities address member needs, including gender and cultural diversity. Use child observation notes for curriculum planning and maintain accurate records. Maintain awareness of members in the group by name and face. Oversee implementation of applicable standards (NAEYC, GSQ, Culture DNA, BGCCNNH, CCLU) and safety policies. Dispense medications per policy and administer first aid as needed; communicate occurrences to families. Oversee and assist in cleaning, organizing, and maintaining classroom welfare. Program Development, Implementation, and Supervision
Ensure proper record-keeping and weekly reporting; provide data for Center Director or applicable staff. Facilitate professional communication with families, staff, and children. Supervise classroom staff, students, and volunteers; provide regular feedback on performance. Support volunteers and practicum students; model techniques that connect theory to practice. May lead planning meetings and increase program visibility via daily schedules and communications. Other duties as assigned. Requirements
Lead teacher qualification (18 credits) with two years of experience in Early Childhood Education or a related field; must be 18+ and have at least 1,000 hours in a licensed program. Knowledge of current teaching methods, curriculum development, and program planning. Ability to form developmentally appropriate relationships and promote positive behavior; motivate members and manage behavior with patience. Ability to supervise and organize members in a safe environment; effective communication with staff, families, and community members. Willingness to maintain an appearance appropriate to duties; adapt to different learning styles. CPR and First Aid Certifications per licensing requirements. May be required to drive the Club van/short bus; safe driving record required. Assist in cleaning and organizing the Club; maintain confidentiality; travel between locations as requested (occasional). Additional Expectations
All candidates must submit to FBI fingerprint background check and background check through NH Criminal Records Dept. and First Advantage. The NH Childcare Licensing Bureau may prohibit employment for disqualifying findings; the organization reserves the right to determine employment status.
