Neuro ICU Advanced Practice Provider

to provide care under the direction of our physician team. The NSICU APP provides care for patients with neurological emergencies such as intracerebral hemorrhages, strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhages, traumatic brain injury, status epilepticus, brain infections, etc. They are part of multidisciplinary rounds inclusive of the attending Neurointensivist, critical care nurse, critical care pharmacist, respiratory therapist, PT/OT/ST, and nutritionist. The APP, in conjunction with the collaborating physician, manages the medical care of neurocritical care patients, performs bedside procedures, and conducts family meetings. The APP collaborates in the development and implementation of standards of care based on current research and evidence. Let Novant Health be the destination for your professional growth.

Education:

Master\'s degree required. Either a graduate of an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program, or NP or post Master’s NP program; required. Experience:

One to three years of experience working in a physician practice setting, preferred. Licensure/certification/registration:

Current PA or NP license in appropriate state or current NP license in appropriate state, registry w/state medical board, and current DEA registry; required. Additional skills required:

Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Ability to work with management team and physicians; demonstrated customer service skills, interpersonal skills and communication skills.
