Job Title:
Occupational Health and Safety Specialist
Location:
Davie, FL
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Conduct quantitative and qualitative monitoring of workplace conditions, including air and biological sampling, to assess worker exposure to various agents.
Identify potential health hazards such as chemical toxicity, airborne contaminants, biological agents, and ergonomic stressors through inspections and evaluations of laboratory and pilot plant environments.
Provide training and education to employees and management on workplace hazards, safe work practices, and proper use of safety equipment and controls.
Develop and implement control measures to mitigate hazards, including engineering controls (ventilation, containment), administrative controls, and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Prepare detailed reports documenting findings, assessments, and recommendations for management and regulatory agencies.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Public Health.
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) required.
Hands-on experience in EHS within clinical, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environments.
Strong sampling experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
Familiarity with GMP, GLP, and related regulatory frameworks.
Experience with biological, chemical, or radiological safety protocols.
