The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in the manufacturing of highly engineered rotational equipment. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes, workflows and physical work cells to enhance efficiencies while also working to reduce waste, improve product quality and enhance workplace safety. The qualified candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams - including production, quality, engineering, continuous improvement, and facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve safety, efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
Utilize lean manufacturing principles and 80/20 tools to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Evaluate manufacturing processes based on cycle time, TAKT time, and quality criteria, such as efficiency and speed; manage process-improvement projects.
Design tools, fixtures and machines used to assemble, manufacture and inspect products.
Develop and maintain work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures for air blower assembly and production.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure manufacturability of new products, providing input on design changes to improve production efficiency using lean thinking and methodology.
Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs for production equipment and tooling.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cycle times, downtime, and defect rates to identify improvement opportunities.
Source and plan installations of new equipment and ensure that it operates correctly; train others to operate new machinery.
Train and support production staff on new processes, equipment, and technologies.
Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment and partner with manufacturer to support equipment repair.
Develop and implement manufacturing, production and ISO certification procedures and processes.
Assist with EH&S projects to maintain a safe manufacturing environment.
Maintain knowledge of new and developing manufacturing technology, equipment, and applications; apply this knowledge to recommend and implement new technology and processes.
Perform other duties as assigned within scope of position.
QUALIFICATIONS

Excellent verbal/written communication, interpersonal skills, leadership skills and problem‑solving abilities.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint including developing graphs and presentations.

Project Management skills.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in engineering; post graduate degree a plus.
3+ years’ experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
Well versed in equipment production and assembly environment.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma/KANBAN or Kaizen methodology.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design.
Experience with safety and regulatory standards related to manufacturing.
Knowledge of modeling and design (e.g., Creo Parametric or SolidWorks).
Experience with PLC programming, controls systems, and electronics.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Move around, use hands to handle objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Office and shop floor working environment.
Noise level is minimal with intervals of spikes.
Required to wear safety glasses, safety shoes and utilize safety equipment while present on the shop floor.

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $94,600.00 - $142,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
