Overview: A reputable, patient-focused dental practice is seeking a
Dental Assistant
to join their
brand-new office
in Akron, OH. This state-of-the-art location features
all new equipment and technology , providing an excellent opportunity to grow with a supportive team committed to delivering exceptional dental care.
Key Responsibilities: Review the daily patient schedule and prepare operatories by
stocking supplies, sterilizing instruments, and building out trays
in advance of appointments. Greet and escort patients to treatment rooms, collect
dental history and intake information , and ensure comfort throughout their visit. Capture
digital X-rays
using Shick Sensors (no traditional bite wings). Assist the dentist chairside during procedures including
fillings, crowns, dentures, whitening, and other restorative or cosmetic treatments . Support
advanced dental procedures , such as
bite molds and impressions
for crowns, dentures, and night guards. Maintain accurate and thorough
electronic health records
and assist with documentation during exams. Perform routine sterilization duties, including
autoclaving, spore testing, trap cleaning, and waterline maintenance . Follow
OSHA and infection control standards
to ensure a safe and compliant environment. Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care. Provide occasional assistance at the front desk
answering patient questions, handling prior authorizations, and scheduling appointments as needed.
Qualifications: Required: Current
Ohio Dental X-ray Certification CPR/BLS certification
(American Heart Association or Red Cross)
Preferred: Completion of an accredited
Dental Assistant training program Experience assisting with
crowns, dentures, or impressions
Soft Skills: Positive, team-oriented attitude Strong communication and organizational skills Reliable, motivated, and detail-oriented
Schedule & Compensation: Monday
Friday, 8:00 AM
5:00 PM Pay:
$17.00
$22.00/hour (based on experience) Quarterly productivity bonus:
5% of annual salary Comprehensive benefits
