Job Summary:
The Landscape Architecture team works on a variety of project types including design of master-planned
residential communities and amenities, public parks & trails, commercial developments, urban renewal & streetscapes, and transportation projects . The
Registered Landscape Architect
manages multiple projects simultaneously from design concept to construction administration, including technical aspects that are inherent to successful projects.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities: Confer with clients, engineers, and other consultants to develop clear project goals, deadlines, budgets, and expectations. Develop project themes and participate in team charrettes. Coordinate the arrangement of existing and proposed land features and structures. Prepare detailed construction documents including but not limited to site plans, construction details, specifications, cost estimates, bid proposals. Prepare graphic representations of proposed plans using computer-aided design and drafting (AutoCAD) software, 3-D modeling (SketchUp, Lumion), and hand rendered graphics. Select appropriate materials for use in landscape designs including plants, paving, fencing, signage, furnishings, irrigation, etc. Inspect construction sites and/or coordinate with inspectors to ensure landscape projects adhere to original design plans, codes, and contract documents. Ability to prepare detailed proposals including the preparation of project scopes of work, fee calculations, deliverables, and project scheduling. May be a direct point of contact for clients including but not limited to Municipal Utility District Boards, Residential or Commercial Developers, as well as City, County, or State governmental agencies, and will attend a variety of public and private meetings. Responsible for relaying project goals and objectives to landscape design team, and other internal disciplines as needed in order to meet and exceed client expectations, and to deliver projects on time and within budget. Knowledge, skills and abilities: Creativity Strong analytical problem-solving skills. Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills with various levels of individuals including clients, consultants, and architects. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and perform well under deadlines. Planting and Irrigation Design. Excellent drafting skills and familiarity with design software (AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, SketchUp). Visualization skills including 3-D Modeling and Rendering. Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. Attend meetings outside of the office with clients, contractors, or other consultants involved in project planning, design, or construction. Periodic exposure to outdoor environment is to be expected through site/field visits. Exposures may include but are not limited to hot/cold temperatures, rain, sun. Outdoor physical demands may include but are not limited to walking distances up to several miles, navigating uneven slopes/terrain and/or heavily vegetated/wooded areas. Education, certification and experience: Bachelors degree or higher in Landscape Architecture. 3-8 years of professional experience. Technical knowledge of landscape architecture site development elements. Registered Landscape Architect in the State of Texas preferred. Licensed Irrigator desired. Strong working knowledge of
AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite.
