TAMKO
TAMKO is seeking a Receiving Operator at our Tuscaloosa, Alabama facility. The Receiving Operator will drive a powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier and move products, equipment and materials. This position will also utilize a track-mobile to move railcars, front end loaders to move rock and debris, and railcar openers to open and close railcar doors.

Performs pre-operation inspection of forklifts, loaders, trucks, and track-mobile; refuel equipment. Operates forklifts to load finished goods and unload raw materials, including truck and rail car loading and unloading as well as operating a railcar opener. Inventories finished goods, work in progress and raw materials. Maintains 5S responsibilities in designated areas. Manually hand stacks finished goods, work in progress and raw materials. Positions forks, lifting platform and other lifting device under, over and around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products and materials, hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch to transport loads to designated area, moving and staging railcars, and monitoring the unloading of trucks for granules/HL/sand/rock. Applies protection to products stored at remote areas. Weighs materials and finished products, and records weight on tags, labels, and production schedules. Conduct railcar operations to include secure railcars, set/release brakes, engage/disengage derails, couple/decouple railcars, throw switches and maneuver railcars as needed. Conduct material quality testing to include sampling, testing and data keying. Requirements
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma or GED. Forklift operator experience preferred. Experience utilizing manufacturing machinery, equipment, and tools preferred. Experience with SAP Manufacturing, Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Outlook, Excel, etc.) and Microsoft SharePoint. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to position himself/herself to operate, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or maintain heavy plant equipment. This may require climbing stairs/ladders, bending, kneeling, crawling, squatting and/or stooping. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and may occasionally lift or move heavier objects with assistance. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work around moving mechanical parts, at elevated heights, where dusts and fumes could be present in the air, with or in proximity to chemicals, in hot environments, around electrical equipment, and in a loud environment. The employee must have the ability to understand and mitigate these and other risks, including by following all prescribed safety rules, and must have the ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, if necessary.
