The Greenhouse Worker III is a working leader position that will perform specific duties to ensure the overall success of the Greenhouse Operations. Specific duties will include: leadership responsibilities of a specific team, sub-department, sub-function or process. The position will work across our berries grown onsite and will have the responsibility of people oversight. There is a strong emphasis on productivity, attention to detail, employee safety and teamwork, leadership, independence and understanding of processes.
Responsibilities General responsibilities include pollination, seed extraction, sowing, transplanting, tray filling, packing, harvesting, pruning, grafting and general cleaning of plant materials. General responsibilities are to be executed with productivity and safety in mind following the established standardized procedures. Leadership responsibilities may include: Oversight of Greenhouse Operations Crew. Oversight of Greenhouse Operations Program. Lead Greenhouse Operations department in the absence of Greenhouse Leadership Team.
Lead department meetings as needed. Serve as a mentor, trainer, and/or role model for other employees. Working on special department projects under the direction of the Greenhouse Operations Manager/Supervisor that may include: data collection, field trials, etc. Ensures the safe keeping of propriety varieties and confidential information. Follows company policies and practices while representing Driscoll's in an ethical and business - like manner in all interactions with employees, government agencies, growers, etc. Performs other duties as assigned by Greenhouse Operations Leadership Team. Able to work onsite 100% of the time in a greenhouse and/or field settings 3 to 4 years of work experience working in a nursery environment. Computer literacy. Basic bilingual communication skills required [English and Spanish]. Many duties require manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive tasks. Able to lift up to 35 pounds on intermittent bases and possess the ability to sit for extended periods of time. Able to work extended hours as needed based on operational needs. Able to work from 6 AM to 2:30 PM from Monday to Friday. Seasonally some Saturdays might be mandatory.
Compensation & Benefits :

The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate is dependent upon experience, skills, education, work location, internal pay equity, and other objective job-related factors.
Hourly Range estimated for this role is: $19.56 to $22.00 USD.
