About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Planner to join our growing Federal Planning team, supporting the National Guard Bureau (NGB). This hybrid role will be based in Arlington, VA, with approximately 50% onsite work at NGB Headquarters and 50% remote. The position is central to coordinating complex planning efforts across all 54 state and territory National Guard organizations, supporting mission readiness, facility needs, and long-term land use strategies nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

Lead facilities and land use planning initiatives for military and federal clients, integrating data from internal databases and qualitative insights gathered through collaboration with state-level National Guard organizations. Maintain regular communication and coordination with all 54 National Guard entities and the NGB central office, ensuring alignment in planning and reporting. Develop and manage the Annual Facilities Report, synthesizing quantitative data and input from interviews, site coordination, and ongoing collaboration with stakeholders. Act as a key liaison, fielding questions from state National Guard representatives and clarifying data requests to support planning accuracy and completeness. Facilitate and participate in onsite strategy meetings at NGB Headquarters to support decision-making and planning discussions. Ensure all deliverables meet federal and military planning standards, including documentation for master planning, facility constraints, and land use compatibility. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Planning, Engineering, Architecture, or a related accredited field Minimum 5 years of experience in federal or military planning Experience managing federal contracts and task orders Understanding of federal procurement processes Familiarity with DoD and non-DoD planning requirements and standards Experience in developing facilities design criteria and master planning documentation Required Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and stakeholder engagement Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and Acrobat Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines Effective problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to mentor junior planners and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
