Senior PostgreSQL and MySQL DBA for Xtivia Inc. to report to our Colorado Springs, CO HQ loc from anywhere in the U.S.
Perform project-based consulting assignments. Perform health checks of client systems. Tune, assess, troubleshoot and migrate with little or no assistance. Provide on call support, services, and troubleshooting for managed service level clients. Migrate database environments from prem to cloud based solutions like AWS, GCP, OCI and Azure. Support a PostgreSQL/MySQL/Aurora AWS RDS environment. Perform ad hoc index maintenance. Assist clients with PostgreSQL/MySQL issues on the phone and via screen sharing software. Export and import data from and to a PostgreSQL/MySQL database. Will require participation in our 24/7 on-call rotation. Regularly scheduled off-hours production installations. May undergo background checks. Little national travel to client sites, conferences may be involved (length of a single trip not to exceed 5 days). Wage: $139,880. Must have Bachelor's in MIS, Comp Sci, Info Tech, or related field; 5 years of relevant PostgreSQL DBA experience; and the following skills (5 yrs exp) in: best practices for maintenance configurations; production experience with Installation, Configuration, Upgrades and Patches; Ad hoc index maintenance; User and Role management; Performance tuning, query analyzation; Assisting clients with PostgreSQL issues; Linux; Importing and exporting data to and from a PostgreSQL database; PostgreSQL architecture, configuration, and performance tuning; Database replication, clustering, and high availability solutions; troubleshooting complex database issues; and (2 yrs exp) in: supporting PostgreSQL in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP); and (1 yr exp) in: Bash, Python, or Perl (for automation tasks).
