Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Support Specialist assists in planning, organizing, and controlling supply chain operations, including planning/scheduling, procurement, packaging/warehousing, and materials control. The role focuses on optimizing utilization of equipment, materials, and manpower to deliver premium customer service. This position involves day-to-day support activities and participation in cross-functional improvement projects aimed at enhancing manufacturing efficiency, supply chain performance, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities: Analyze manufacturing and supply chain operations using system skills, analytical abilities, and business knowledge to identify opportunities for improvement. Initiate and lead improvement projects as necessary and develop reports and analysis for continuous improvement. Support new system implementation projects and initiatives within the Supply Chain department. Support packaging and warehouse activities, including optimizing shipping, receiving, storage, and packaging efficiencies. Create, modify, improve, and maintain business reports and queries for Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and other functional groups. Perform work safely and maintain a safe work environment, observing safe work practices and reporting unsafe conditions proactively. Benchmark internal and external processes to maximize efficiency of function and systems. Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Proven analytical and project management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and day-to-day responsibilities. Strong interpersonal skills to interact across functions and levels of the organization. Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Access. Willingness to work 6AM-2PM (hours may change based on business needs). Preferred Qualifications:
2-5 years of supply chain experience. Degree in Supply Chain or APICS certification preferred. Lean and/or Six Sigma/Performance Excellence training; Green Belt certification preferred. Knowledge of cable products, materials, and manufacturing processes. Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and ERP systems; SAP experience preferred. Ability to thrive independently and collaboratively in team environments. Change champion with flexibility and adaptability.
