We're seeking a results-driven Data Governance Manager to lead the development and execution of a robust data governance framework within our Google Cloud environment. This role focuses heavily on Google Cloud Dataplex and Data Catalog , and plays a critical part in ensuring data quality, security, and compliance across the enterprise. Key Objectives: The ideal candidate will help shape a data-driven culture by setting standards, driving consistency, and ensuring the integrity of enterprise data. This position directly supports the protection of a key national infrastructure asset through sound data practices. Key Responsibilities: Build the Framework: Design and roll out a scalable data governance framework, including policies, standards, and best practices to uphold data quality, integrity, and regulatory compliance. Quality & Integrity Oversight: Define data KPIs, lead assessments, and implement processes for data validation, cleansing, and monitoring. Metadata Management: Leverage Google Cloud Dataplex and Data Catalog to drive efficient metadata practices, data lineage tracking, and cataloging of assets. Glossary & Definitions: Establish and maintain a business glossary and data dictionary to ensure shared understanding and consistency across teams. Stakeholder Leadership: Drive collaboration across business, IT, and executive teams. Lead data stewardship initiatives and enforce data ownership responsibilities. Governance Reporting: Monitor compliance and generate reports on data governance metrics and policy adherence. Support audits and perform regular assessments. Enablement & Training: Create training materials and lead awareness sessions to embed data governance principles throughout the organization. Required Qualifications: Proven experience in data governance, data management, or a related discipline. Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform , especially Dataplex and Data Catalog . Deep understanding of data governance frameworks, industry best practices, and compliance regulations. Expertise in SQL and data quality tools. Effective communicator with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with data warehousing, data modeling, and database concepts.
