Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post‑treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X‑rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake when needed.
• Assist the dentist in managing dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supplies, and an emergency telephone directory.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one‑year certified dental assistant program.
• One year or more of on‑the‑job experience (with supporting documentation).
• X‑ray certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• High‑level certifications (OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, infection control) maintained annually as required by law; nitrous oxide certification is highly recommended.
